Ford's SEMA Presence Will Be Simply Massive It's a very important year for the big blue oval.

goes without saying that 2015 will be a very important year for Ford. It’s released two new models (the Mustang and the F-150), both of which feature very serious revisions over their previous generations. These cars are going to be all over the place in no time flat, starting with the SEMA aftermarket convention in Las Vegas. A whole host of tuners have descended upon Ford’s new darlings, and the results are looking very interesting.
Bushwacker Off-Road Support SEMA Concept
The 2015 Ford F-150 represents a sea change in light-duty pickup construction, featuring an industry-first aluminum body. There seems to be a massive outpouring of “off-road friendly” models at SEMA, one of which is Bushwacker’s Off-Road Support concept. Like the other dirt-loving trucks on display at the show, the Off-Road Support concept features a whole host of aftermarket parts that work in collaboration to lift the truck to the sky and give it the capability required to do some serious rock-crawling. That winch looks like it could stump a California redwood.
MRT SEMA Concept
Then there’s the 2015 Ford Mustang. Ford has finally brought the new Mustang into the 21st century with the addition of an independent rear suspension and an optional turbocharged EcoBoost four-cylinder engine. Tuning house MRT chose the EcoBoost engine as the heart for its SEMA concept, which features some very aggressive exterior upgrades, along with a custom air suspension and a Vortech air-to-air intercooler. It might hearken to road racing, but it’s still very much a show car.
Petty's Garage SEMA Concept
Other SEMA tuners are sticking with the Mustang’s tried-and-true V-8 engine. Take Petty’s Garage, for example; they’ve kept the exterior modifications somewhat simple, choosing a two-tone paint job and wheels that fit flush with the Mustang’s fenders, giving it a racing-inspired look without many changes. As one might expect from a garage named after a famous NASCAR racer, the Petty Mustang concept will feature plenty of power, by way of a Roush supercharger system. To make matters better, this specific car will be auctioned off after the show, with all proceeds going directly to charity.
Galpin Auto Sports SEMA Concept
Galpin Auto Sports’ Mustang project takes an even simpler route for aesthetic modification, dressing up its Mustang GT with a black-and-gold getup that includes a new front bumper and some tasteful, yet still visually impressive gold wheels. The real cherry on this sundae, though, is the engine, which is boosted up to a whopping 725 horsepower, thanks to a Whipple supercharger that’s been powder-coated gold.
SEMA is shaping up to be a very interesting show that will delight all sorts of car fans, be they fans of trucks, cars, or anything else in-between. We’ll be there once the doors open up to bring you plenty of photographs straight from the SEMA floor!
